Beijing/Taipei With You: A Chinese Graded Reader for New HSK 1 (Traditional & Simplified)
Lisa had a plan: move abroad, ace her Chinese classes, and embrace a new adventure in one of the world’s most vibrant cities. Romance? Not exactly on the agenda. But that all changes when she’s greeted at the airport by a young local who helps her navigate the city’s twists and turns. He’s charming, helpful… and completely off-limits!
A chance encounter at a language exchange rekindles their connection, sparking chemistry that neither can ignore. But when Lisa suspects he has a girlfriend, things get awkward, fast. Cue a string of blush-worthy misunderstandings, mixed signals, and moments that make her wonder: is she falling for a guy who’s already taken?
“Beijing with You”/"Taipei with You" is a lighthearted Mandarin Chinese graded reader that lets you fall in love with the city's charm—and maybe a little romance on the side. Perfect for learners who want an easy-to-read, feel-good story that will make them smile, swoon, and keep turning the pages!

Loved this graded reader. There’s a lot of graded readers out there that aren’t great quality, but I feel this one is really setting the standard for what graded readers should be like.I read the book and followed along with the free audio. It’s read really slowly which could be a con for some people, but it was perfect for me. It also really helps that there's footnotes/key word list for every new word that is not in the book’s HSK level. There is also an English section that is a translation of the book. This section was very useful for me as I was able to go back and forth to get a better understanding in parts where I needed more context. Overall, I would say this book is beginner/intermediate friendly (about HSK level 3 or new HSK level 1). The story was a rom-com with a lot of unexpected twists. I hope they have more books coming soon because I loved this one.
